Chris Dewey

Chris Dewey

Chris is a solicitor, the firm's Managing Partner and a key member of both the Personal Injury and Employment Law teams. He is a Senior Litigator with the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers, a member of the Law Society's Personal Injury Panel, and specialises in advising both employers and employees on all aspects of employment law including claims for unfair dismissal, disability claims, TUPE transfers etc. In a personal capacity he is a keen sportsman and holds the firm's best golf handicap.

Penny Lees

Penny Lees

Penny is a solicitor and a long-standing partner in the firm. She handles high value or complex residential property sales and purchases, commercial property transactions and residential and commercial landlord and tenant issues both locally and throughout England and Wales. She is the principal contact for the firm's membership of Norfolk Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

Cheryl is a Solicitor, Partner and head of the Private Client team. As well as managing the department, she advises on Wealth Management, Trusts, Probate, Wills, Lasting Powers of Attorney and Elderly Client and Court of Protection work. She is a full member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP), Solicitors for the Elderly (SFE) and Association of Contentious Trusts and Probate Specialists (ACTAPS). She is also a Notary Public.

Cheryl is currently studying for the STEP diploma in Trusts Disputes.

Richard Pennington

Richard Pennington

Richard is the supervising partner of the Family and Civil Litigation and Employment Departments and carries out litigation work which he has carried out for regular clients for over 20 years.

He became a solicitor in 1986 and a partner at Ward Gethin in May 1991 where he is the Finance Partner. Richard now brings his over 20 years of litigation experience particularly of contentious financial issues to the areas of primarily family law – especially finance issues, contentious probate and professional negligence along with some general litigation.

Richard is also a member of the Association of Contentious Trust and Probate Specialists.

He is a trained mediator, a Member of the Professional Negligence Lawyers Association and a member of Resolution (which is a group of lawyers committed to constructive resolution of family disputes).

In a personal capacity he is the Chair of YMCA Norfolk, a trustee of a number of local charities and a member of the Lawyers Christian Fellowship.

Sarah Scott

Sarah Scott

Sarah is a solicitor and partner in the Personal Injury Team and a member of the Law Society Personal Injury Panel. She specialises in industrial injury cases, including asbestos exposure, occupational asthma and accidents at work generally. Much of her work is for Union members in the Norwich area. Sarah is also a Notary Public, enabling her to assist those wishing to conduct foreign transactions.

Simon Wilson

Simon Wilson

Simon is a partner in the firm. He joined Ward Gethin in 2006 to lead the expansion of the Commercial Property team in King's Lynn. He has experience in all aspects of commercial property including landlord and tenant, site acquisition and disposal, and land development. Simon's client base includes a wide range of owner-managed businesses, property developers, entrepreneurs within the leisure industry and established larger organisations. He also provides general commercial advice, and assistance with licensing.
